  1. Any comments on the Pride and Prejudice show at Emerson this month? I saw it this weekend and was quite disappointed in it.

It was truer to the book than the two other P&P shows I’ve seen, but Darcy, Jane and Bingley were so miscast. And Lizzie wearing jeans and then what looked like a white sheet throughout most of the show really bothered me (and the friend I was with). Eventually she put on a dress, but she was still wearing jeans when even Mary was wearing Regency dress – and Mrs. Bennet was in slacks. The actor who played Wickham was tall and somewhat regal and should have been Darcy. The best actors however were those who played Mr. Collins, Mrs. Bennet and Lady Catherine.

  2. Thank you for your review!! I didn’t end up making it, although I had a ticket. I heard that some JASNA folks went and enjoyed it…they weren’t impressed with the theater aspects. I’m looking forward to S&S next Sunday.
